The first meeting regarding the building of a Treatment Centre on Vancouver Island occurred in June 1977. On May 13, 1980 Tsow-Tun Le Lum was recognizes as a Society under the Societies Act of British Columbia. Doors opened to residents on June 26, 1988.

Tsow-Tun Le Lum will deliver culturally based mental health and addictions services to our people in a safe manner, in the journey towards balance—to find pride in culture, strength in community, inspiration from healthy role models, hope for the future, and ultimately a life free from the abuse of alcohol and drugs.
